Mount Carmel lodge #44 was founded with the goal of providing Haifa, the major seaport of Israel with an English speaking lodge for the benefit of both new immigrants and foreign visiting freemasons and thus enable them to take an active part in the Masonic ritual work.

Today we find in the lodge find brethren of all ages from all over the English speaking World from different backgrounds, religions and professions who take part in the ceremonies according to the Scottish ritual.

The lodge was consecrated April 24th 1956 by the Grand Master of the Grand Lodge of  the State of Israel  M.W. Bro. Yaakov Caspi. The Mount Carmel lodge was founded by 22 Master Masons including 5 Past Masters.

For more details of the founding of the lodge we invite to read this speech by R.W. Paul Arieli who was one of the founding members of the lodge. The speech was given at the 50th Anniversary Jubillee.
